Heaven's Buried Deep is a self-directed studio portrait series shot in 2022. Warner cast the talent, directed the lighting, composition, and posing, and co-developed the overall visual direction alongside avant-garde designer, director, and model Nefer Avat, who created and brought her own experimental styling to the project.
The goal was to build a body of fine art portraiture that treated the studio as a space for conceptual and psychological exploration rather than conventional beauty or fashion. Warner's approach centered on atmospheric lighting, intimate framing, and a shared creative language with the talent, resulting in images that feel both personal and otherworldly.
In 2024, the series was selected to appear on the front cover of Thames and Hudson's Class of 2024 publication, a book spotlighting the next generation of photo-based visionaries. The work was launched at Photo London and covered by ShowSTUDIO as part of the book release. Additional works by Warner included in the publication were featured at ICP New York.
The project has received global recognition across print and digital platforms.
